Founded in October 2016, Arcane By Design was born from the single desire to create bespoke homeware and gift pieces from intriguing materials, whilst utilising modern processes. Both from contrasting design backgrounds, Co-Founders Becky & Bob established this creative outlet to begin testing several laser cut gifts, personalised for friends and family to suit various occasions. A few successful sales later, they sought to pour every creative skill set at their disposal into developing a final, unique product with bespoke capabilities. After much trial and error, this eventually evolved into a series of products now known as the ‘Atlas Collection’, which finally led to Arcane By Design’s official launch in December 2018.
As a growing team with endless ideas, our focus is to continue developing our range of products whilst blending raw, natural materials with geometric forms to achieve elegant functionality. Each design is created with the intention to offer bespoke options, for a personal touch that makes every item unique, whilst still retaining the aesthetic that makes our products truly Arcane By Design.

Rebecca E. Smith

Working for several years as an Architectural Model Maker, Laser Cutting Technician, and Jewellery Maker, Co-Founder & Designer Becky has gathered a versatile set of skills over the course of her career, earning her the responsibility of leading the production of all our products.
In-between production, Becky often experiments with her love of line-work, architecture and all things geometric, by creating new product concepts, which explore the unique connection between the bold, angular designs and distinctive textures found in raw materials, whilst developing processes’ which utilise new technologies in order to streamline our production.
It was this inherent drive to be at the forefront of product development, alongside a constantly evolving craftsmanship which played a pivotal role in the formation of Arcane By Design.

As an experienced creative with an extensive background in design, spanning digital and traditional mediums, Co-Founder & Designer Bob forged our brand identity, and continues to communicate what is it to be Arcane By Design across all platforms.
Utilizing the various skills at his disposal, Bob frequently switches roles between Photographer, Art Director, Web Designer, Social Content Creator (and even Product Designer when the moment strikes) in order to tackle the next challenge. With one finger always on the design pulse, and a strong interest in new industry trends, Bob is always exploring new and intriguing ways to push Arcane By Design further into the spotlight.

“A DESIGNERS JOB IS NEVER DONE”
To ensure every made-to-order item is produced to the highest standard, we use machinery like our Co2 laser cutter to obtain a high level of detail. We carefully assemble and finish all pieces by a skilled hand, which adds a little human touch. By creating each component in-house, we are able to control every phase of production, whilst steering away from the mass-produced market.
Alongside our collection of products, we also enjoy collaborating with various artists, designers and agencies in the form of providing bespoke laser cutting services.
